Hydraulic Bursting
Hydraulic Bursting provides a quiet and efficient method of controlled demolition used to remove large concrete structures such as foundations, pillars, bearers and concrete walls. Bursting can also be used on natural stone.
Burster heads are inserted into a pre-drilled pattern of holes which are drilled to form a plane of weakness. A hydraulic force or the use of expanding grout is introduced to the hole or holes to induce a controlled crack in the concrete. This eliminates or greatly reduces the subsequent breaking operation. Bursting is dust-free, quiet and eliminates Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS).
Hydraulic Concrete Bursting is particularly useful when working in confined spaces on heavily reinforced concrete metres thick or anytime when precise, Controlled Demolition and removal is essential.
