Position: Accounts Apprentice

Location: Head Office – Whitstable, Kent/ Training Centre – Maidstone, Kent

Type: Full-time

Start Date: Immediate

Salary: £18,720.00 per annum

Hours: Office hours are 8.00am-5.00pm, Monday – Friday/ Course hours are 9.00am-4:15pm, variable weekdays

Holidays: 28 days per annum inclusive of bank & public holidays

Overview:

A dynamic group of companies are seeking an Accounts Apprentice for an immediate start. CA Drillers, CA Fire Protection and CA Telecom currently employ 120+ staff with further plans for expansion and we’re looking for the right candidate to join our hardworking team.

Based from our Head Office in Whitstable, the Accounts Apprentice would gain sound office experience within a well-established Finance team. They would be trained by the team to act as a support function whilst also working towards gaining an apprenticeship level qualification with a local course provider: Assistant Accountant (Level 2) including AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. The course would be arranged and funded by the business and all modules would be delivered in face-to-face workshops, in a classroom.

We’re looking for a confident and enthusiastic individual seeking a long-term career in Accountancy/ Finance, namely within the construction industry. This is a huge opportunity, with a very experienced team to learn from and the potential to further their qualifications over time.

Roles & responsibilities:

Your responsibilities would include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the Financial Controller with the management accounts.
  • Running reports from the accounts system, to show expenditure on various departments.
  • Assisting the Purchase Ledger Clerk by invoice inputting and running payments to suppliers.
  • Dealing with supplier disputes.
  • Assisting with credit card purchases.
  • General administration within the Finance team.
  • Sales billing.
  • Credit control.
  • Processing supplier invoices.
  • Preparing reports for the Financial Controller.
  • Processing credit card transactions.

Requirements:

  • Aged 18 or above.
  • GCSE English & Mathematics.
  • A’ Level (or equivalent) and above qualifications, including Mathematics.
  • A resident of the UK or EEA for at least the last 3 years.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
  • High level accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Computer literate, including strong Excel knowledge.
  • A genuine interest in the construction industry.
  • A willingness to learn and a proactive attitude towards development.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • A team-oriented mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Reliable and punctual.
