Erith Group – 105 Victoria

Project Overview

CA Drillers were appointed by Erith Group to deliver specialist cut and carve demolition, concrete cutting, and diamond drilling works at the 105 Victoria development project in London. The project required a range of complex structural modifications to support the demolition and redevelopment phases of the building.

Working closely with the main contractor, CA Drillers carried out a series of precision drilling, sawing, and controlled demolition operations to ensure the project progressed safely and efficiently.

Scope of Work

The works at 105 Victoria involved several intricate demolition and structural cutting activities, requiring advanced equipment and skilled operatives.

Stitch Drilling & Structural Removal

One of the key elements of the project involved stitch drilling pile openings to a depth of 1.5 metres. These openings were carefully created to enable the safe removal of large structural sections, which were subsequently lifted out using A-frame lifting systems.

Track Sawing & Trench Formation

CA Drillers also carried out track sawing operations to form structural trenches approximately 1 metre deep. Once the cuts were completed, the concrete sections were broken out using two Brokk 400 robotic demolition machines, ensuring controlled and efficient removal of the material.

Diamond Drilling for Steel Installation

As part of the structural modification works, the team performed diamond drilling to create 600mm diameter holes to a depth of 600mm. These holes were then carefully broken back to form slots for the installation of new steel wailers, supporting the structural reinforcement of the building.

Roof Demolition Works

Additional tasks included track sawing to create corner openings and controlled demolition of sections of a small roof structure.

For these works, CA Drillers utilised Brokk robotic demolition machines equipped with specialised munching jaw and sheathe attachments. This equipment allowed the team to safely remove structural elements while reducing the risk of flying debris and limiting vibration transfer through the structure.

Basement Structural Works

CA Drillers also carried out extensive track sawing and floor sawing within the basement levels, focusing on modifications to the structural slab. These operations were critical to preparing the site for the next stages of redevelopment.

Project Outcome

Through the use of advanced diamond drilling, track sawing, and robotic demolition equipment, CA Drillers successfully delivered a wide range of demolition and structural cutting services on the 105 Victoria project.

The company’s expertise in cut and carve techniques ensured that complex structural modifications were completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements.

Conclusion

The 105 Victoria project highlights CA Drillers’ capability to deliver specialist demolition and structural cutting solutions on complex urban redevelopment projects. By combining technical expertise with advanced equipment, the team played a key role in supporting the safe progression of the development works.
