An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety professional to join our well-established, successful construction-based business. We are a long-standing, trusted company specialising in diamond drilling and diamond sawing. Our highly trained and accredited professionals have paved the way in us becoming an industry leader.
We currently require a SHEQ Manager with construction industry knowledge and experience. They will be used to working in a fast-paced environment; multitasking, prioritising and taking a hands-on approach, leading to effective outcomes with high standards at the fore. The manager will join at a middle-management level of an existing SHEQ team and will help to lead with determination and optimism.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Writing and submitting carefully considered RAMS for clients, for wide-ranging construction-related works.
Reviewing and submitting RAMs for any subcontracted works.
Carrying out company and/ or site inductions for new employees, including Face Fit Testing for site operatives.
Monitoring and reviewing of occupational health medical screenings.
Regularly attending work sites to undertake thorough site audits.
Attending client/ site meetings; representing and promoting the business from a Health & Safety standpoint.
Carrying out incident investigations for both accidents and near misses; ensuring quality reporting within reasonable timescales. Also ensuring that root causes are recognised and that corrective actions are applied.
Overseeing both internal and external SHEQ training.
Providing ongoing Health & Safety related advice to operatives; including delivering Tool Box Talks/ safety briefings (either site-based or digitally).
Procuring and managing the distribution of PPE across the business.
Completing and monitoring valuable accreditations, e.g. questionnaires to ensure compliance.
Cooperating and working with external consultants for RISQS audits (railway).
Seeking continuous improvement surrounding all SHEQ related business and processes; sometimes developing and implementing new procedures.
Keeping abreast of any new industry-related legislation and ensuring the adherence of this across Company policies, procedures, technical standards and codes of practice.
Attending and influencing outcomes at monthly SHEQ meetings.
Other ad hoc SHEQ-related tasks where required.
